If you’ve read my blog before you will know that I love being a Colshaw Hall wedding photographer. It is one of my favourite wedding venues and I’m so honoured to be a regular photographer there. I genuinely believe it is one of the best wedding venues in England. Every time I visit I am welcomed so warmly by the staff. Sophie & Owen got married at this simply breathtaking venue –capturing their wedding here really was a privilege.

The Couple

Sophie & Owen chose an elegant and classic black tie theme which perfectly matched their luxurious venue. Sophie wore the most stunning Abella Bride gown and looked so beautiful 😍 The couple got in touch with me a few months before their big day and during our pre booking chat I knew we would be a great fit. They wanted a documentary style photographer to capture their special day as it happened, so that when they looked back over their photos afterwards they would be able to relive their wedding and feel all the feelings over again. This couldn't be a greater fit for my style of photography and approach to a wedding day!

The Ceremony

Colshaw Hall has it's own fabulous Ceremony Hall in the grounds. Inside is wooden, with lots of large windows giving plenty of beautiful natural light to the proceedings. Sophie and Owen had a lovely ceremony conducted by Your Ceremony Cheshire. Sophie and Owen's young children were both at their wedding, with their lovely little daughter stealing the show as she walked down the aisle carrying her little bouquet - such a little angel! She brought a tear to lots of eyes as she trotted down the aisle towards daddy! Then Sophie made her interest and blew everyone away, she looked so stunning.

After their ceremony we captured some lovely images around the grounds before the couple went to mingle with their guests. One of the reasons I love Colshaw Hall so much is because the grounds are so fabulous. There are so many fantastic locations for photos, from grassy meadows, to the lake, to the immaculate gardens, to the lily pond and not to mention the grandeur of the Hall itself.

The Reception

After mingling with their guests drinking champagne and eating canapés, it was then on to enjoying the speeches and the most delicious wedding breakfast from Barretts Events Caterers. We snuck outside once darkness had fallen to capture an artsy couples portrait using the venue’s magical fairy lighting before a gorgeous first dance and then the party started! Jonny Ross Music had everyone up on the dancefloor and the guests loved the sax player! I left them dancing the night away, the perfect end to the most perfect of days.
