As a Browsholme wedding photographer, autumn weddings at this historic Ribble Valley venue are always incredibly special. With its beautiful gardens, historic buildings and views across the Lancashire countryside, Browsholme has such a timeless atmosphere throughout the seasons.
Beth and Jozef’s October wedding was full of warmth, laughter and one of the most extraordinary sunsets I’ve ever seen in over twelve years of photographing weddings.
A Relaxed Autumn Morning at Browsholme
Beth spent the morning getting ready at Browsholme surrounded by her closest friends and family. The atmosphere was calm and full of anticipation as the final details came together.
October weddings always have such a beautiful softness to the light, and the warm tones of the season suited the setting perfectly.
Their dog was also part of the celebrations, which made the day feel even more personal. It’s always lovely when couples include the parts of their everyday life that mean the most to them.
A Quiet First Touch Before the Ceremony
Before the ceremony, Beth and Jozef chose to share a first touch — a quiet moment together without seeing each other.
Standing on either side of a doorway, they simply reached out and held hands for a few moments before walking down the aisle. You could almost feel the nerves disappear instantly. It was such a simple moment, but incredibly powerful, and it immediately settled them both before the ceremony.
It was a beautiful thing to witness.
A Beautiful Ceremony at Browsholme Hall
Browsholme’s ceremony space is full of character, with its historic interiors creating such an intimate setting for couples to exchange their vows.
Beth and Jozef’s ceremony was emotional and joyful in equal measure, with plenty of smiles and laughter from their guests as they officially became husband and wife.
Afterwards everyone gathered outside to celebrate with drinks and congratulations while the autumn sunshine continued to glow across the gardens.
Portraits in the Browsholme Gardens
One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Browsholme is the variety of beautiful spaces around the estate.
From the gardens to the surrounding countryside, there are so many quiet corners where couples can step away for a few moments together while still staying close to the atmosphere of the day.
Beth and Jozef embraced this time perfectly, enjoying a relaxed walk through the grounds while their guests continued celebrating.
The Most Incredible Sunset
Just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more beautiful, the evening brought the most incredible sunset.
The sky lit up across the Ribble Valley in deep golds and soft pinks - easily one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen in over twelve years of photographing weddings.
We stepped outside for a few quiet moments while the light lasted, capturing some final portraits as the sun dropped behind the hills. It was the perfect ending to an already unforgettable day.
