There are some wedding days that just feel full of love from beginning to end, and Michael and Erin’s beautiful wedding at Bowling Tipis was exactly that.
It was one of those crisp, cold days where the sun somehow makes everything feel that little bit more magical. Wrapped up against the chill, surrounded by the people they love most, Michael and Erin celebrated with an emotional outdoor ceremony in the forest before heading back to the tipis for the loveliest celebration.
Getting Ready at Longridge House
The day began at Longridge House, where Michael and the boys got ready together before heading over to Bowling Tipis.
There’s something I always love about photographing the quieter part of the morning before everything really begins. The anticipation, the nerves, the little moments between everyone getting ready - all the things that help tell the full story of a wedding day.
And of course, one very important member of the wedding party was there too: Michael and Erin’s dog, Sage, looking incredibly smart in his little bow tie.
An Outdoor Forest Ceremony at Bowling Tipis
Michael and Erin chose to get married outside in the forest at Bowling Tipis, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful setting.
Despite the cold, the sun shone through the trees as everyone gathered for the ceremony. The woodland made such an intimate backdrop, with their friends and family wrapped up warm and gathered around them as they said their vows.
It was an incredibly emotional ceremony. There were tears, laughter and so many lovely reactions to capture - the kind of moments I’m always watching for because they say so much more about a wedding day than anything posed ever could.
A Wedding Full of Love
What stood out most about Michael and Erin’s day was just how much love there was around them.
From the emotion of the ceremony to the hugs, laughter and little moments happening between their family and friends throughout the day, it was one of those weddings where there was always something to photograph.
The spring sunshine was beautiful too, giving us gorgeous light amongst the trees and around the tipis. Yes, it was absolutely freezing - but completely worth braving the cold for.
